Skating Out From The Now Dimmed Entries
I ask each reader for his or her continual help & support. If you become aware of a misspelling, a misidentified person or some other such thing, please email the correction to me! I want to make the change. After all, it's YOUR Weblog.
If you take-off & go skating - we most definitely should know about your adventure! Please briefly write about it and email your work to me! A photo or two are not necessary - but would always be a nice touch.

Our Skate, Skate, Hash
On Saturday Afternoon – April 16, 2006
Rick S had been excited about his Hash for months.
Months!
And Barb J must have been well within the loop.
She was excited too!
She showed-up wearing pretty Springtime clothes and matching psychedelic pink lipstick – a shade which showcased her normally sized abnormally large smile – the one that was worn all the way to MARTA to hand-out tokens, as if a homeless entrepreneur. And Bill C & Cindy S were there too. We seldom see these two around the Carter Cntr parking lot any more, but say ‘Hash!’ and you can bank on them turning into a skating magnet.
However, we became slightly concerned over our Chuck-O. We had already known he lives for the Hash-Thing, but to witness massive froth flowing from his mouth, stemmed from an inert desire to hunt-down and over-take a Hare – like occurs to my pet dog when sighting a squirrel – well, the phenomena is something in itself to experience. Kind of like Mark D wearing chaps on Halloween or Scott J wearing a shiny and far too tight skinsuit on an ordinary NSP skate.
Originating at the Carter Cntr, the Hash looped through Piedmont Park to Patricia F’s house. The live chase swung into Midtown and wound-up at a MARTA train station (where you had to actually get on one of its smelly and always late trains). And somehow, we ended up at Greg T’s beautifully remodeled Candler Park/L5Ps house, where we suddenly had quite a relaxing time thereafter.
David L having one of his blissful Zen moments prior to hitting
the streets.
.
Beefcake applying sunscreen. He was wanting to block away the
sun but not women.
.
Cindy S monitors the Hash instructions. She’s kind of like a member
of the UN who monitors our third world-like politics. And if she were
actually a UN member, she’d probably write the book the world would
follow to become a more intelligent place.
.
Barb’s smile… See… Case-in-point !
.
Michele R-B is perhaps the most spirited Sexually-Explicit-Easter-
Hasher. Stand nearby while she’s sweet-talking her hubby, Bruce,
and you’re sure to become sexually aroused & gasping for breath.
.
Permanent honeymooner, Michele R-B, and the lot she’s got.
.
Cindy was concerned that her rabbit might end-up looking like a
pig. Us guys saw it as fitting; where as, the ladies present in no
way wanted that. Rick’s a pretty easy-going sort-of guy. He
simply went along with whatever Cindy branded him.
.
A Springtime Tree in Piedmont Park. Equal to my love for cute
women, I love trees. I was holding up the others by lying around
and emotionally professing my love to the tree – instead of more
rationally considering the now closeness of Patricia’s house. And
Patricia’s house would of course be a good place to stash a sen-
timentally valued Orange & White Home Depot cooler full of two
beers. Once the thought finally crossed my mind, I quickly
divorced the tree.
.
Wendy H has an inner desire to be a Bunny. Most likely a Playboy
Bunny, although she’d never openly say this. We gave her ample
opportunity to express an openness of her desire at the Post-Hash
drinking party.
.
Like us , Amber was on skates – the old green & black Verducci
V-Tec’s that Beth D had given her a while back. But none of the
others wanted to associate with poor Mrs. Amber, as she wasn’t
wearing a head-bucket. She tried to describe why she wasn’t
wearing her head-can, but to us, her complex & impromptu ex-
lanation that fumbled in words only sounded like gibberish. How-
ever, I took the situation as a grandiose opportunity to more
closely associate with an attractive Amber.
.
Post-Hash Party & Greg T’s house.
.
Jonathan was demonstrating the proper way to ‘snap’ a bottle
cap way over to Ken-O. However, Ken had very little to worry
about.
.
Lisa M picked-up on the cap ‘snapping’ technique.
Here, Ken had even far less to worry about.

One of Our Skate, Skate, Skaters
On Tuesday Evening – August 3, 2004
Featuring Ms. Kristie Krabe
APRR’s Kristie Krabe had made the finals for the Georgia “Give Me The Mike” singing contest. She gave an absolute and perfect stellar performance. Most of us have learned that Ms. Krabe is by far worthy of Broadway! And after hearing her this Tuesday evening – and witnessing the complete naturalness of her performance – for me – she IS Broadway! There is truly nothing more I can say about Ms. Krabe. You simply must hear and see her sing.
As seen on Atlanta’s WSB – Channel 2 TV.

Kristie singing to the general audience, to generally all of
Georgia, and to her immediate family - - who were well
relaxed in “The Best Seat In The House.”
.
.
She was simply beautiful in every way.
.

Over 25,000 people had actively
voted for her during the previous
show.

.
Finalists Thelma Isaac, Jayron Weaver, and Kristie.
Although Kristie placed third (a mere one point behind Jayron and only
two points behind Thelma, who placed first overall, it didn’t so much matter
to me. Because to me, and to so many thousands of others, Kristie was
THE winner. And she had placed first within so many hearts. Kristie, nor
anyone else, could have done much about a single judge’s ridiculously low
given score, which neither reflected Kristie, her performance, or the ratings
provided by the other three judges.
But here’s the clincher: Kristie’s super human and staunchly professional
reaction to that first judge’s below humanistic score - - No words can
describe - - You simply had to have witnessed this total beauty of Kristie.

Our Skate, Skate, Skate
On Monday Night – August 2, 2004
Welcome back Weblog Readers !!!
(This entry is dedicated to Jenny X & Brenda C - we wish you God's speed in recovery.)
It’s been a long - - little while since any effort’s been placed into this APRR blog-thing, but my life (as still lacking a good woman in it) has been a little upside down. So, during this past week, I’ve shuffled my life up a bit by putting behind me my full-time architectural job – that I may more easily gear myself fulltime for my photography endeavors. Up until now, photography has only filled in cracks, but the cracks have been full for a long time coming - - and my life - - has never the less been upside down – and eroding.
Driving south down Ga-400 and entering onto I-85 via the country’s absolute WORST engineered connection ramp, I could not help but notice the most beautiful, and huge cumulonimbus rain clouds. They extended upwards to perhaps 35,000 feet, were brilliant white at the top, red-orange in the middle, dark red-orange to gray in the lower half, and black at the bottom. Gray streaks of rain sought the ground just to the south of the city’s skyline. The interstate I was on was totally dry. I had to assume that the city’s streets may or may not be wet.
The Carter Center parking lot was indeed partially wet. A handful of skaters stood next to their cars laxly with bare feet and wearing dry frowns. “Well, should we skate tonight?” asked Mark D to no one in particular but hoping to get an answer of some sort. “I broke my wrist not too long ago and I can’t afford to fall. I don’t think we should go.” Mark then asked Mims if he was planning on skating. Without saying anything, Mims provided us with one of his common, albeit famous, lips-sealed, head cocked, arms-extended, palms up shoulder shrugs. And without question, John M was now putting together the final touches of lacing up his recreation skate boots.
“We’re skatin’,” came blurting out to the growing group of potential skaters. “We’ll be goin’ slow - - but let’s GO !!!”
As many of us know, Mark D is highly technical and forward-looking when it comes to terms of dogging rain on skates. “We should skate to the northeast. I don’t think the rain’s been there. Anybody know?” he asked out loud to all of us.
Then, as highly technical and all-knowing skaters, we each gave Mark our own report & account of the recent summer-like rainfall. All of which completely contradicted each other’s stated report.
After causing quite a BROKEN mishap with Mrs. Brenda
just the other week, tonight, no one really wanted to be
within a hundred miles of Ms. Nancy. And when it was
actually Ms. Nancy who ended up crashing to the ground,
everyone of us then knew that she was indeed some sort
of CURSE. We'd rather have been on some other
continent. (We LOVE you Nancy!!!)
.
During the 80’s, while astronomer, Dr. Carl Sagan was
still alive, he often professed Einstein’s theories of light –
of the speed of light – and of the physics of physically
traveling at speeds close to the speed of light. Being
inline skaters, we’re all well aware that as we approach
the actual speed of light, light waves become increasingly
distorted – and of course – so do we. Here, traveling
from the right to the left, Nancy has already blasted through
whatever sound barrier there had been and is now seen
quickly approaching some type of quantum speed.
Perhaps Einstein or Dr. Sagan would have been able to
explain it better than this.
.
Mr. M Riley skates through some residual rainwater,
over the Piedmont Park bridge, and under a clearing
summer sky. Mark R is everything about the definition
of ‘COOL’ in his hot-yellow custom made skate boots
by Pinnacle Racing. Ask him how much he paid for his
ceramic bearings and super-duper lightweight frames
- - and he’ll tell ya’ that he got a super-duper deal !!!
.
Nancy G’s friend, Cindy K, joined us for the first time
tonight. She’s been skating for many years and knows
about good taste. Her fairly new skates were smacking
delicious looking. And after wanting to kiss her all over,
I wanted to kiss her boots too.
.
What might as well be an ad for Solomon fitness
skates – Cindy really makes these boots look exciting!
.
Cindy making her way up the sidewalk on the 14th Street hill.
.
At Colony Square, our already small group split apart.
Some of us were wishing to be more spanky than others
and others of us wished to simply more leisurely enjoy
the hot, muggy, sweltering, heavy Atlanta overly humid
evening heat. Shown here are Jason, Nancy G, and
Nancy’s friend – Cindy K. Also with us was John M, who
joined the more spanky skaters and did a fantastic job
of staying with the pack. (Hey John, you'll naturally
become faster by skating with others who are faster!)
.
Mark R called my house the other day and left a message
on the voice mail: “Dude! … You gotta’ check out my
new skates, dude! … I finally got everything! … New
frames – which are as light as hell … 84mm wheels…
Ceramic bearings … New custom-made boots … I’ve got
everything … I’m stoked dude! …. I’m totally set-up! …
You’ve gotta check it out ! … I skated P2P with Beth
and a few others, and the Silver Comet with Jim – I’ve
put in 80 miles this weekend !!! … okay dude … I’ll see ya’
… (click)
I later called Mark back and listened in detail to his
excitement over his new old house and new, new boots.
I then mentioned to him my own excitement about getting
a new super-huge sized computer CRT monitor (for
my high-end photography work) and a screaming fast &
powerful video/graphics card (as in basically the same
price as the $1,000 CRT monitor). “Oh and by the way,”
I continued. “I’ll get a color calibration kit in a week
or so…”
(Shown here prior to my color calibration kit – and being
able to properly color calibrate my new monitor – are
Mark’s new super-duper politically correct and highly
politically slanted customized skates.)

Our Roller-Soccer
On Monday Night February 23, 2004
Im not wanting to write much about APRRs Roller-Soccer in this entry. (Id rather someone else write about it. Carl, is this you?) But for you, and for this entry, Ill let the action-packed photos shown below tell the awesome Roller-Soccer story of unlimited exhilaration, back-to-back extreme excitement, and lots of smiles and pain combined. Sure, a number of APRR skate their way over to the Georgia Tech campus to observe the continuous movements of others in an almost dance like fashion. But to actually get out on the concrete Roller-Soccer court and participate in this uncoordinated waltz or perhaps coordinated free-for-all thats a totally different story.
You see, in Roller-Soccer, you basically have two sides. One side generally wears white or some other light colored shirt or sweatshirt; and the other side wears an upper garment thats dark. There are perhaps many different ways of playing Roller-Soccer, one way being just like that of traditional soccer. However, APRR has been enjoying a different version. Through its version, for one of the teams to score a point, each player of that team must touch (or contact) the soccer ball prior to the other team gaining control of it. (No use of hands though!)
Strategically, youll want your team to be in close proximity of the ball when on offence. This permits the entirety of your team to conveniently and quickly touch the ball (and score a point). And when on defense, its also a good idea to be close to the constantly moving ball. This allows any given member of your team to more easily interfere with the accumulation of your opponents touches (and prevents them from scoring a point). Better yet, when on defense and in the same situation, youll get a gold star if you intercept the ball for your team.. However, youll also want your team to fill the playing courts open spaces. This may help your team to better regain control of a loose ball, if not to move the ball further away from your opponents.
The game usually winds down and wraps-up after an all-out couple hours of hard, but fun-loving play; and, upon the time when multiple players end up falling to the concrete floor, mulling around on it, and exclaiming that they can no longer get up. I think that just about does it for me, Mims R exclaimed after a super long moment of silence and after Carl had head-butted into the side of his rib cage. Ill be feeling this for quite some time.
It was an even longer moment of silence before Carl said anything. He too was sprawled out on the cold floor. I didnt realize your ribs were so hard.

Greg had just fallen down and cried, Help, I cant get up!
I then encouraged him to get up so he could see this picture
on the cameras large LCD screen. With my hair, it almost
looks like bloods coming out of my helmet, he observed.
Yea, you should make it look red, quipped Mims.
And what if I make it look green?, I responded.
Youre right. We always thought there was something
strange about Greg, settled Mims.

Its pretty typical.
